Este proyecto abarca desde la idea inicial hasta la inserción completa de un nuevo personaje en un videojuego. Creado como proyecto final de mi Grado en Comunicación en Audiovisual y Multimedia.
Let’s start defining what is MOBAs to understand the concept: they are games dedicated to all kinds of players, attracted to them either by the strategic aspects of it, the character and environment designs, the chance to play together with friends, or simply for the novelty.
In the project report, a summary is done about videogames and their history, from their origins to their classification and how they attract people. Next, the players are the focus, the standard characteristics, and what drives them to play certain games.
Along with this, a certain hypothesis is made: players are primarily attracted to games by the characters themselves. How does this happen and what kind of player tends to use certain character archetypes. Thanks to this games can make use of another resource, the narrations. These are essential for the characters, as their development and change affect the story and, by extension, the player. As such, character creation will be discussed, from the initial idea to the final implementation in videogames.
Finally, all this will be compared and contrasted to the methods used in League of Legends, making an analysis of the types of characters and players within it. Using this theoretical essay, a thorough story will be created for the new addition, as well as the initial concept art and the abilities it will use, concluding with the unveiling of the character along with supplementing material, finishing up the proposed objectives at the start of the setting.
